Emotions of moving 20 Years Of Memories & How we are doing it

Moving is emotional. Add raising your children in the same home for 20 years, and the emotions ramp way up. The memories, the lessons, the comfort of familiarity, and the sheer accumulation of stuff is simply harder to move. Writing about this helps me process some of it, so follow along as I share, which may be a bit unconventional, and certainly personal.

Travis and I had been lightly discussing our thought on becoming empty nesters in a few years which would open up some new options in our hearts and minds. Things we have considered during our discussions are our parents as they age, our children moving to far away places, our love of travel, our love of both the city and the country, our desire to host our children and future grandchildren, our dogs, and my desire to have a garden and fresh eggs. But, I also longed to experience a convent life where walking to a store or restaurant was a real option, something I’ve never had. We have always lived in the rural or remote suburb areas. Then, it all sped up with a chance to preserve a family property in North Chattanooga.

I do value quality much more than quantity in most things.
