Quail Hunting At Barnsley Resort

A Perfect Day at Barnsley Resort: Quail Hunting and Southern Charm Just a Short Drive from Chattanooga

As a Chattanooga native and real estate professional who's always on the go, I make it a point to carve out time for the things that recharge me—like spending a day in the great outdoors with good friends. I’ve visited Barnsley Resort in Adairsville, Georgia, several times over the years, but I’d never made it to the Beretta Shooting Grounds side until this past MLK Day. A few buddies and I planned a quick quail hunting outing, and it turned out to be one of the best days I’ve had in a while.

We packed a hearty lunch to enjoy after the hunt, carpooled down for great conversation, and hit the road early. The best part for us locals? It’s an easy drive south from Chattanooga—you can head out in the morning, enjoy a fantastic hunt, and be back in time to pick the kids up from school. No long weekend required, just a refreshing escape close to home.

The Beretta Shooting Grounds at Barnsley is top-notch: beautiful rolling terrain, expert guides, and the thrill of wingshooting in a stunning setting. It’s the kind of experience that leaves you energized and grateful for North Georgia’s hidden gems.

Beyond the hunting, Barnsley Resort has so much to offer for all kinds of getaways. I’ve stayed in both the charming cottages and the newer Inn, and both are excellent. Whether it’s a romantic trip with my wife (she raves about the spa), a family weekend (our daughter loves the horseback riding), or even a corporate retreat (I’ve been twice for work events), there’s something for everyone. The historic gardens, lawn games, fire pits, championship golf course, farm-to-table dining, and genuine Southern hospitality make it feel like a true retreat.

If you’re in the Chattanooga area and looking for a nearby spot to unwind, reconnect, or treat clients to something special, I highly recommend Barnsley Resort. It’s a beautiful, welcoming place that reminds us why we love living in this region—great outdoors, short drives to incredible destinations, and that unmistakable Southern charm.

Have you been? I’d love to hear about your favorite experiences there. And if you’re thinking about making Chattanooga (or nearby North Georgia) your home base for more adventures like this, reach out—I’m always happy to chat about the area and what’s available.
